Move In / Out Cleaning
Our Move in/out cleaning option allows us to thoroughly deep clean your home for you or for the next family moving in. Please ensure that the home is empty upon our arrival and that there are no other movers or tradespeople working alongside us.
Electricity and water is a MUST at the property!
There are homes that can go beyond the standard of our “normal” move in/out clean. In cases where there is more build up of dirt and grime, we may need to add the first time clean option to your cleaning service to allow our cleaners more time to complete the work.
Note: If there is rubbish all over the home or thrash remaining at the property upon our arrival, there will be extra hourly charges for that. We will call you before we begin bagging or removing the thrash.

New Build Cleaning
For New build cleans or renovations, please get in contact with us as they do not fall within the parameters of our online booking system and would require an in person walk-through. After, this is done we will then put together a proposal where you will the quote for the job.
- The windows will be professionally cleaned inside and out.
- Joinery will be meticulously cleaned inside and out.
- The tracks of all ranch sliders, doorways, and windows will be thoroughly cleaned.
- Walls, doors, door hardware, skirtings, and sills will be diligently dusted and wiped.
- A comprehensive kitchen clean will be conducted, including all appliances.
- The bathroom and fittings will receive a thorough cleaning.
- The laundry and garage, along with their fittings, will be completely cleaned.
- All advertising stickers and labels will be removed.
- Tiled areas will be immaculately cleaned.
- Floor areas will be vacuumed and mopped to perfection.
- A detailed report on any maintenance or repair issues noted during the service will be provided.

What is your refund policy?
We do not offer refunds!
If the clean is not up to your expectations, please email us within 24 hours.
We will try our best to remedy the issue within 7 days.
How is my billing information kept safe and secure?
Credit card transactions are processed by Stripe, which has its own 256 security protocol. Additionally, our system does not store your credit card number, only a token that allows us to charge the card when the service is complete.
What if something goes wrong during my appointment?
If something goes wrong, we’re here to make it right. Please let us know right away, and we’ll be there to take care of it. That’s our promise to you!
Do your crew members go through a criminal record check?
Yes, they do. We require a criminal background check on all of our applicants as the last step in our pre-screening process.

Does Meraki offer long-term contracts for cleaning service?
At Meraki Cleaning Company we prioritize flexibility and transparency for our Bay of Islands cleaning services. We do not engage in long-term contracts. Instead, we offer easy online booking with transparent pricing, allowing you to select the services you need and see the costs upfront. This approach ensures that both our clients and cleaners have the freedom to adapt to changing needs.

I am in the middle of a house renovation but I only need a standard clean. Why must I book a post-construction cleaning service?
During a renovation, there is a lot of fine dust and debris that you don’t usually come across in a standard cleaning service. It is essential to book a post-construction clean as that gives us an idea of what to expect from your home and how long it would take us to get it to a pristine condition. This would also allow us to bring the right equipment with us to remove this dust and debris, ensuring a thorough and deep clean of your home.
Once this stage of the cleaning is completed only then can we seamlessly transition you to a standard cleaning of your choice whether that be weekly, bi-weekly or a monthly service.

Why is the square meter of my home important when booking a cleaning service?
It is important that you book with the actual size of your home to ensure that we allocate the proper amount of time for our cleaners to clean the entire home effectively.
If you do not book with the right size of your home, on the day of the cleaning, you might have expectations that our cleaners cannot fulfill due to a lack of time. When a client adds additional rooms upon arrival, it could lead to incomplete cleaning, which leaves the client unsatisfied and disrupts our schedule. Accurate bookings are necessary as they allow us to provide consistent, thorough, and reliable service at every visit.
We want to serve our customers to the best of our ability and leave your home pristine. If you would like to update the number of rooms and bathrooms in the house, please do not hesitate to contact us for our assistance.
Are you able to clean if I am not home?
Absolutely! We encourage our clients to go out, catch up with a friend over coffee, and then return to a sparkling clean home. When booking your service, make sure to enter the home access details. You can book your service here.
Why do you charge extra for a pet?
All homes have a standard pricing and we do not add the extra time needed for homes that may have build up of fur. We do not do walk throughs of residential clients so, if you have a pet that sheds a lot of fur, the time needed to do your clean will be more than someone who that does not own a pet. We have the “Pet” extra in the booking section to let us know more about a clients home so, we can bring the right tools with us to clean your home.
Note: We will do our best to remove pet fur in your home but if we can’t remove all because of the build in the carpet or couch then we may suggest on the day to do a professional carpet & upholstery clean for better results.
What If I need to cancel a booking?
No worries! Just shoot us an email at [email protected] or call 0508 637 254, and we will take care of everything. Please make sure you give us 24 hours’ notice, otherwise, there is a $60 cancellation fee.
How many cleaners do you send?
At the moment we send a team of two cleaners. If the size of your home requires 3 hours to clean with one cleaner. A team of two cleaners would take 1.5hrs.
We want our cleaners to share tasks as it takes away some stress from the cleaners bodies however, if you desire just one cleaner in your home please do give us a call.
The services we don't provide
Our cleaners do their absolute best to provide exceptional service, but there are certain things that we cannot offer/guarantee. Liability, safety, and the highest quality are considered at all times. If you are unsure about your cleaning or an item below, please call us to discuss!
That said, the following are services that we do not provide:
We cannot perform services while other services are being performed in or around the home (plumbing, painting, construction, etc.)
No lifting or moving of heavy items (refrigerator, stove, tables, etc.)
No moving vases, hung pictures, or other delicate items.
We are happy to load your dishwasher, but cannot replace dishes in cupboards once complete. We don’t want to break anything.
Cleaning any item or area that cannot be safely reached using telescopic cleaning tools and a step stool.
Removing excessive pet hair from upholstery.
Cleaning exterior windows.
Cleaning Mini Blinds. Our cleaners are happy to dust horizontal metal or plastic mini blinds, but we have found that they are easily bent or damaged if anything beyond dusting is attempted.
Removing strong odours (mould, animal waste, smoke, etc.) Again, we will do our best.
Cleaning rodent/insect-infested homes.
Removing excess paint from surfaces.
Post-construction cleaning. We can provide that service, but it does not fall within the parameters of our online booking system and would require an in-person visit to make a quote.
Deep carpet/floor cleaning (steam cleaning, polishing, waxing, etc.)
Heavy marks/stains on walls, baseboards, other painted surfaces. We don’t want to potentially damage your paint!

Getting started
How should I book my cleanings if I only want certain rooms cleaned?
We offer a flexible hourly booking option for clients who need specific areas cleaned. While our standard packages are designed for comprehensive home cleaning based on the total size of your home, we understand that some clients may have unique needs. For these situations, you must book a minimum of 3 hours. This allows our cleaners to focus on your priority areas while ensuring we maintain high standards for our services. How is my billing information kept safe and secure?
Meraki Cleaning Company uses Stripe as our payment platform, which is considered a secure platform for storing customer information. They are certified by PCI DSS Level 1, which is a stringent security standard for payment card data. They use encryption, tokenization, and other security measures to protect sensitive data.
How much will it cost?
We price based on the Area of your home. Simply choose the size of your home and number of bathrooms in our booking form to get your quote. If your happy with your price simply book it in.
Which areas in the Far North do you serve?
For our residential cleans, we are currently servicing any locations that is 35km from Opua. However, do get in contact with us if you have any questions about your location or if you are is desperate need of a clean and we’ll see how we can assist you.
New build cleans can be done outside these areas but travel charges will apply.
Do you bring your own cleaning supplies, products and equipments?
Absolutely! We provide all cleaning supplies, products, and equipment, unless there is a specific request for a certain service.
